This 77th Boijmans weekly diary 2025 shows a varied number of works from the collection in which water plays a role. To start with, there is the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan by Lucas van Leyden. In the field of utensils, there are beautiful kettles, jugs, jars and basins. Crying Girl by Roy Lichtenstein shows a moment of human weakness, while the print Noah's Ark of a red boat on blue waves by Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman is strong in its simplicity. A beach photo by Rineke Dijkstra cannot be missed, nor can the pointillist representation of the Rotterdam harbour by Paul Signac. The collection is an inexhaustible source of art like water. The works of art are explained with texts by Alex de Vries.
