A photographic record of the Bumping Tumble installation contemporary artist Karin van Dam created exclusively for Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. She designed a work consisting mainly of buoys and ships' fenders, specially produced in white for the dome inside the museum's Van der Steur Wing. Suspended from the dome by wires, ropes and bands, they formed a floating porcelain composition. The book, a little work of art in its own right, makes its own special contribution to the installation and has its own particular place in Van Dam's oeuvre.
