The story goes that kintsugi originated when the emperor of Japan had his porcelain repaired with staples at the end of the 15th century. He instructed his craftsmen to come up with something better: gold repair. This art became such a hype that some collectors deliberately destroyed precious pottery only to repair it with the gold seams of kintsugi. With the repair set, Humade combines this beautiful old technique with new technology. Messy repairs emphasize the marks and scars of a product. This gives it a new perspective and beauty while providing longevity. You can use the set on almost any other material besides ceramic. For example, you can choose to repair objects made of glass, marble, wood and most hard plastics.
You can use the set multiple times. Read the manual before use.
After repairing an item, we recommend waiting at least 48 hours before using it to allow the adhesive to harden.
Handle the items you have repaired with care and wash them by hand.
'New kintsugi' is a new way of gluing porcelain based on the old kintsugi technique. Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Also available in silver.
