With the opening of Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen in 2021, Thonik built on the previous visual identity that they developed for Boijmans in 2006, and which is now so typical for the museum. The typographical 'three-line' is central, inspired by the visual language of the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico. But the depot also had to be clearly distinctive. The work building designed by MVRDV consists of 1,664 panels that multiply the environment in reflection. To capture this effect graphically, Thonik opted for two extra lines in the typography, and fracture lines were added to the font that follow the grid of the mirrors.

This is not your average plate.
On this plate, designed by design agency thonik, the depot logo seems completely distorted. But the placement has been thought out down to the square millimeter. Place the reflective depot mug on this and see what the reflection does!
