Description
A major source of inspiration for the Depot Toolbelt was the Depot as a work building with many tools for restoration and conservation. Because every day can be different, the tool belt is designed to be flexible and modular to wear. The toolbelt is made from tarpaulin that has been upcycled from a waste stream. The pattern parts for the toolbelt are machine cut from the canvas by printing company Boer & van Wijk. The bags are assembled locally in AnoukxVera's studio at De Wasserij. Remaining tarpaulin from the Schiedam sailmaker Bingham as a basis, in combination with a silver seat belt, provides a robust and futuristic appearance.
The toolbelts are finished with colorful details such as a neon label and funky strings.
AnoukxVera has gone through several iterations of the design to ensure the best possible quality and functionality. These iterations had to do with material choices, but also with feasibility in production and the shape and size of the bags.
